History

From the founding in 1900 of Hall-Moody Institute, through the establishment in 1927 of UT Junior College, to today’s status as a comprehensive public university, UT Martin is committed to preparing students for success in the global economy.

Education

Educational Outreach offers courses in different distance learning formats and mediums of delivery. Courses are offered in Martin and at our educational outreach locations in a traditional classroom format, by interactive compressed video, online, and in a combination of mediums. Welcome to the University of Tennessee at Martin's Campus Recreation program, a Division of Student Affairs. Campus Recreation offers programs to the campus community which include intramural sports, aquatics, fitness, leisure recreation, sport clubs and much more. Campus life

The main campus is located in Northwest Tennessee about 125 miles northeast of Memphis, 150 miles northwest of Nashville and 60 miles north of Jackson.

Sports facilities

A Sport Club is a recognized student organization that exists to promote and develop interest in a particular sport or physical activity. A club may be instructional, recreational, or competitive or may involve any combination. Sport Clubs are strictly voluntary. Involvement in a sport club enhances the student's collegiate experience and contributes to the student's overall education.

Student organizations help to serve the various needs and interests of students at the University of Tennessee Martin. With organizations ranging from a variety of categories, any student will find it easy to 'get-in' where they 'fit-in'. Student Organizations are a vital part of campus life and a great way for students to get involved on campus and in the community.

Accreditation

Institution-wide accreditation is governed by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), the regional accrediting agency governed by the U.S. Department of Education. All SACSCOC member institutions undergo full review of accreditation every ten years and submit a fifth-year interim report between the decennial reviews.
