Iona College opened its doors in 1940 with nine Christian Brothers and six lay faculty greeting the first class. Their goal was to open new paths to economic and social advancement for the sons of New York’s working class.

Iona’s commitment to prepare students thoroughly to enter the job market, helps ensure that recruiters interview informed, qualified and interested candidates. The Center for Career Development helps students prepare for all aspects of the job search including, identifying appropriate opportunities, resume writing, videotaped practice interviews and organizational research.
In accordance with the mission of Iona College, the Office of Student Success exists to support and assist undergraduate students in the process of initiation, navigation and graduation through four years of an Iona College education.

The Iona College Libraries hold over 250,000 volumes and multimedia resources as well as 500 current print periodicals. In addition the libraries provide access to thousands of electronic resources and journals for both on and off-campus users.
The student computers on the New Rochelle campus are housed in 36 computing facilities and two campus libraries. The facilities are connected to the campus network via a high-speed 10 gigabit Ethernet connection. Two of these facilities are open 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Departmental labs are open at the discretion of each individual department.

Iona offers a variety of on-campus housing options for undergraduates and graduates, including traditional residence halls and suite-style apartments. The Off-Campus Housing office is a resource for students who opt to live outside of the Iona residential life program.

At Iona, we boast a vibrant campus life, home to more than 80 different clubs and organizations that evolve to meet the changing needs of our student body. Our calendar is full of performing arts events, speakers, movie and game nights, campus-wide fundraisers, athletic challenges and activities of all kinds.
