Research

The Office of Research and Technology Transfer promotes and supports research and sponsored programs within The University of Texas at Tyler and through collaborative efforts with other universities, industries and businesses.

The office coordinates externally funded research projects; provides support for research development, post-award management and technology commercialization; and represents the interests of the UT System, the university president and the university community in their relationships with external funding agencies and sponsors.

Student services

The Office of International Programs (OIP) leads UT Tyler's international outreach through programming, advising and collaboration. University preparation is encouraged through Intensive English Language training and issuance of visa documents to incoming students. International study and research opportunities are facilitated for current students and faculty through travel study programs and collaborations with universities abroad.

Housing services

  • Tyler Main Campus: Nearly 259 acres nestled in the beautiful pine and oak forests of East Texas. Key facilities include the Herrington Patriot Center, our state-of-the-art fitness center with gymnasium that seats 2,000

  • Palestine Campus: On-site courses and online/interactive television classes are available in new facilities featuring state-of-the-art education in nursing, education, health and kinesiology, and history

  • Longview Campus: Modern facilities including the latest simulated patient technology, with on-site classes in nursing, business, technology, liberal arts, math, sciences and education. Courses are offered via web, interactive television and hybrid formats

ICT services

The mission of the Campus Computing Center (CCC) is to support the academic endeavors of students, faculty and staff of the university by providing an information technology-based environment composed of the necessary computing resources and related support.

The Office of Student Health and Wellness supports student learning at UT Tyler by creating opportunities, programs and policies empowering students to:

Student Life

Campus life

Our beautiful 259-acre Tyler campus is nestled along a lake surrounded by thick pine and oak forests, providing a picturesque location for study and recreation. For student convenience, we also maintain regional campuses in Palestineand Longview, as well as a location in Houston.

Sports facilities

  • The HPC is named for the family of Louise H. Ornelas, who has been an avid supporter of UT Tyler for many years. The center also includes the Jean Lancaster Academic Wing, Maytee Fisch Convocation Center, Jim and Bonna Bess Vaughn Recreation and Therapy Pool and the Meadows Student Lounge.
  • Other features of the facility include classrooms, laboratories, faculty offices, a gymnasium/convocation area with basketball and volleyball courts seating for over 2,000, indoor walking/jogging track, aerobics and free weights areas.
