History

Washburn is a top-notch university in an urban setting where students of all backgrounds have been finding their niche since 1865.

Education

Washburn University has a rich history dating back 150 years. Our university was founded in 1865 by members of the Congregational Church on the principle that all people – regardless of race, ethnicity, gender or family income – have the right to earn an education.

Research

Strategic Analysis and Reporting exists to serve internal and external constituents’ data and informational needs. Internally, we partner with offices throughout Washburn University to provide clean, timely, and actionable data and analyses to help the University serve its strategic needs, especially as they relate to helping students succeed.

Student services

Desk Assistants (DAs) are student leaders who work at either the Living Learning Center or Washburn Village front desk.  The Living Learning Center and the Washburn Village’s front desks are open Sunday through Thursday from 9:00 a.m. – Midnight and Friday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 a.m.  

Housing services

Please visit the links on the side of the page to learn about all of the different residence halls at Washburn. From the Living Learning Center, a 400-bed residence hall, to the Washburn Village, a 192-bed apartment complex. Washburn's five residential facilities are appropriately designed to complement to your contemporary lifestyles.

Library services

Mabee Library is located in the center of campus between Moore Bowl/Yager Stadium and Henderson Learning Resources Center. The Library was completed during the 1977-78 school year and named in honor of J.E. and L.E. Mabee of Oklahoma. Before their deaths, Mr. & Mrs. Mabee established a foundation to provide money for educational and religious institutions in the Midwest region. 

ICT services

All TSC services are performed at no charge to you. You will be required to sign a waiver to have TSC staff work on your equipment or to leave it with the TSC. All services are provided on a best-effort basis. In general, the University and the TSC in particular cannot guarantee work performed on personal equipment, network access, or access to other resources as a result of these services.
