Kadir Has University (KHU) was founded in 1997, in Istanbul. The university, with its five faculties of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Economics and Administrative Sciences, Communication, Law and Fine Arts, as well as its several vocational schools, is dedicated to becoming a leader in educational and cultural fields in Turkey, as well as establishing itself as an international center for research and scientific development.



Kadir Has University (KHU) was founded in 1997, in Istanbul.


Our aim is to create an environment of education, research, and discussion at the level of the best universities in the world. Thus we offer education based on both traditional disciplines and interdisciplinary models; we foster the skills necessary for continuing social and cultural development; and, while helping students prepare for the future, we encourage their search for higher truths.

Student services

  • Student Affairs Office is responsible for implementing the university's student services at all facilities.
  • Educational Technology Support Unit provides training and support services to students and instructors on information technology and systems which are used in academic activities.

Housing services

Kadir Has University offers limited number of dormitory accommodation for international students. Kadir Has Residence Hall consist of two separate female and male dormitories. Female dormitory is located in a walking distance from the main campus. Male dormitory is located on the other side of Halic, within 15 min. university shuttle ride.

Student dormitories feature semi private bathrooms, laundry rooms, cable TV and 24 hour internet access and mini kitchens equipped with refrigerators, microwaves and kettles. Standard room is furnished with bookshelves, single or bunker beds, chairs and private cupboards.

ICT services

The KHAS Information Center is dedicated to providing the most up-to-date information services throughthe latest communication technologies and aims to meet the needs of users in the most efficient

manner possible in their scholarly research and intellectual development. Another aim is to build the basis for education and the scholarly and intellectual activities of its users.

Medical services

Each of our university campuses are equipped with an on-site medical center. In addition to our on-site mediacl centers, the Kadir Has campus also houses the psychological consultation center.

Each medical facility is open to students, faculty, and personnel for emergency consultations.

Student Life

Campus life

Kadir Has University is located on the grounds of the Historical Tekel Cibali Works, which began operations in 1884 as the state tobacco depot and cigarette factory and continued to operate until the founding of the university, when the building was faithfully renovated and transformed into the main campus.

Selimpasa Campus

The School of Applied Sciences, School of Technical Sciences and School of Social Sciences are located on the Selimpasa campus, which has an interior area of 20,000 square meters.

Bahçelievler Campus

Located within the Kadir Has Center, the Bahçelievler campus houses the English Preparatory School. Spread over 4,000 meter squares, this campus offers computer-supported education.

Sports facilities

Kadir Has University is active in every area of sports. The aim of our university’s sports programs is to develop our students’ abilities and physical health alongside their educational and cultural development.
