Paderborn University is the University for the Information Society. Our strong foundation in computer science and its applications, as well as the importance of IT for a growing number of disciplines, are the pillars for this claim.



The University of Paderborn (German: Universität Paderborn) in Paderborn, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany was founded in 1972. 15,228 students were enrolled at the university as of December 2010.


We offer 67 degree programs at bachelor and master level. Additionally, teacher education programs play an important role in Paderborn.


We focus on the following three research areas:

Campus life

The main campus is located at the Warburger Straße in Paderborn. Most lectures take place here. The residence halls are located at the campus or nearby.
